nizations (CSOs) Perspectives Forum Machakos County</a>\nJoin us for this
collaborative approach towards Sustainable Development 1 day Context Macha
kos County\, has seen significant economic and social development over the
past decade\, the county still faces critical challenges such as poverty\
, food insecurity\, water scarcity\, poor healthcare access\, and climate
change effects[1]. Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and non-profits play
a critical role in addressing developmental challenges and fostering comm
unity-driven solutions. In Kenya\, at the national level and within the co
unties\, Civil society and non-profits have been integral in filling gaps
where government interventions may fall short\, particularly in rural area
 s. In Machakos County\, CSOs and non-profits play a critical role in compl
ementing government efforts in sectors such as health\, education\, water\
 , sanitation\, climate action\, governance\, and economic empowerment. Des
pite these efforts\, there is limited coordination among the various organ
izations working in Machakos. Duplication of efforts\, competition for res
ources\, and insufficient knowledge exchange have been highlighted as majo
r barriers to sustainable development in the region[2]. Recognizing the ne
ed for collaboration\, knowledge exchange\, and capacity building\, The Co
unty Government of Machakos in collaboration with Sustainable Africa Innov
ators (SUS-AFRIC) www.sus-afric.org invites Civil Society and Non-Profits
stakeholder’s working in Machakos County to a roundtable meeting. Purpos
e of the meeting This forum will aim to foster partnerships for SDGs\, sha
re best practices\, align efforts with the Sustainable Development Goals (
SDGs)\, and strengthen the role of CSOs and nonprofit organizations in add
ressing development challenges\, through collaboration with the County Gov
ernment of Machakos in a transparent accountable manner. Additionally\, fo
cusing on programs/projects impacts and sustainability. [...]
