He holds a Master's degree in Rural Development and Natural Resource Management from the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences and a Bachelor's degree in Animal Production, Technology, and Management from Makerere University.

Akejo has worked with various organizations, including ACSET Uganda, GIZ, and Restless Development, on projects related to agricultural development, climate-smart agriculture, and youth livelihoods. He has expertise in areas such as contract farming, agricultural extension, market integration, and policy support.

He is also skilled in computer literacy, monitoring and evaluation, and has experience in managing large operations and teams. Akejo is fluent in English and has a strong understanding of the agricultural context in the East African region. He has a proven track record of building consensus and promoting cooperation amongst project stakeholders.
